Vet the Vote Campaign to Recruit the Next Generation of Poll Workers

The United States was founded upon the idea that every citizen has the right to have their voice heard through honest and free elections. Protecting election integrity, and thus our country’s founding ideals, depends on every American citizen trusting that they will have their vote counted. Many loyal Americans decide to become poll workers to ensure American democracy works.

However, the United States is currently in a poll worker crisis. 130,000 poll workers have stopped serving over the past three midterm elections as they face threats and harassment, and every indicator currently predicts that there will be a poll worker shortage for the 2022 midterms and future elections.

Vet the Vote is taking action to combat the poll worker shortage and fortify the democratic process. Vet the Vote is a national campaign to recruit 100,000 veterans and military family members to become the next generation of poll workers.

Veterans and military families serve as representatives of the most trusted institution in the United States, having made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our nation, our democracy, and the American people. As respected leaders, public servants, and citizens, Vet the Vote aims to empower veterans and military families to enhance American freedom as poll workers and ensure our elections remain honest and fair.

Vet the Vote makes it simple for veterans and military families to sign up to staff their local polling locations and receive all information necessary to serve as poll workers.
